Steady day for winners, Trifectas were good once again with some nice dividends for novelty players. Our specials were poor although Vain Queen pulled up with the thumps, the remainder were dissapointing.

Another massive day with the Sydney Cup favourite "The Offer" getting the drifts badly meaning there must be something wrong when the horse has conditions to suit. What a days racing with $8.5 million dollars in prizemoney at stake and including a $3 million dollar Doncaster. Track is rated a Heavy 9 which will bring a few surprises into the ratings. Although untried on the heavy we can't go past Messene as our top rater. There has been plenty of money for Weary but its a great race with plenty of chances. The TJ Smith is also a ripper. The Heavy track will suit Tiger Tees, not sure about Lankan Rupee, suits Buffering and Gordon Lord Byron. Trainer Joe Pride also has an opinion of See the World and doesnt think there is much between his runners. Tough day at the office for winners, trifectas and first 4's were ok again. Winners were poor although 4 specials saw 2 winners and 2 second placegetters. Saved the day for us.

Plenty of rain around Rosehill and track conditions may cause some issues during the day. Track conditions reported on the course proper were the 700m mark being the worst part of the track and overall track was heavy in patches. From the 500 to the winning post the track is Slow. Not sure how Earthquake will handle the wet track only being on good going for its four wins and the elevated temperature during the week worries me. You can not help but rate it on top. Mossfun has won 2 on the slow and Alpha Miss one , Bring Me The Maid won on the Heavy, and Gibellines ,Risen from Doubt and Memorial have been placed on slow going. Typically hard race but I might be looking to have an each way bet on Gibellines at $13. The money for Valentia and Unencombered may be emotional. A good day for winners at 13 or 32% and the same for trifectas. Only 1 of our 3 specials won unfortunately.
