OUR NEWS30 Nov 2012
The less said about the days results the better. It's back to the drawing board and recovery for Saturdays meetings. Only 5 winners and 8 trifecta's for the day was officially "a shocker". Stay tuned to our news on Friday as we will have a couple of specials for you at Canterbury's night meeting. 29 Nov 2012

Two big winners Br1 from Warch Racing got the first four at Eagle Farm or a percentage of. Our first 4 selections were the First Four and it paid $14,000 on the NSW TAB. Hopefully someone got Moonee Valley race 5 as well which paid $4292. Great days racing and saw an outstanding win by Barakey, a tough win by Academus and a outstanding run into second by Luckgray. Top weight and had to come from stone motherless last to just go down. Both Barakey and Luckygray are group horses. Travinator just didn't get the 1200. A very nice strike rate for top raters of 36% and the big trifectas and first fours certainly made some people very happy. I would love to hear some feedback from our subscribers so we can guage how everyone is going. I know the spring carnival was not great for punters but the last week has been sensational. Let us know what you think of the site and what other services you would like to see. Any feedback would be appreciated. 25 Nov 2012
What a wonderful day's racing to look forward to. This is the best race meeting seen at Ascot for years and we have made a significant change to our ratings on the Winterbottom Stakes. Originally we had Pinwheel rated on top but the reports from the stable are the horse has not settled in well and the indications from the betting markets confirm this. As a result we have re rated the race and have Barakey and Travinator equal top with Pinwheel just behind them. The Eastern States speed chart men are all expecting that Travinator will not lead, I can tell you the horse will lead from Barrier 1 and the speed is the key to the race. Yes there is a doubt about the class of Travinator against these proven campaigners but the horse may just be one out of the box. I think he will drift a little in the betting so we can get our required 6/1. With Travinator in the lead and Barakey on his hammer the pressure applied will decide the horses fate but I think they can run 1/2 for a WA result. Great race and tactics may decide the outcome. The Railway is a tough race but we will stick with Luckygray who will need luck from his barrier but he is named appropriately. Fat Al is the obvious danger but he was dissapointing at his last run and you can ignore the support on the tote as Gai's horses are always well supported.. The Guineas trophy will be heading East with Academus and at $4.60 he is a great value bet. Good luck to Ian Smith and the boys with Wombies Legacy at 80/1. Best Bets today SR2/4 Golden Sunshine AR 5/1 He's no Slouch PR 3/2 Iseethingsyoudont PR 7/2 Academus BR 1/1 Craiglea Cruz BR 5/6 The White Hope (Best of the day) Good luck 23 Nov 2012
A great day with 5 winners from 8 races. A few shorties but with 5 winners from the last 6 races it was easy to combine them in an all up bet or two. We also found 3 trifectas and 2 first fours on the day.

When luck doesn't run your way in a stable , it can continue for some time. Most horse trainers are superstitious and Joe Pride told me one day that when he gets a run of bad luck he will go and get another litter of cats for his stable. Yes cat's Joe thinks they are good luck. The bad luck started with Rain Affair pulling up sore and needing an operation to clean up his knees. Joe missed the plane to Melbourne to saddle up Tiger Tees at Flemington on Emirates day due to a glitch at Virgin's ticketing service. Last weeks barrier trials saw Falzzon get away from his strapper and nearly put Christian Rieth through the base of a tree and then Destiny's Dance injured him self getting his leg over a railing. A couple of poor rides including Blake Shinns effort on Randall in the last race at Warwick Farm on Emirates Day didn't help. Yesterday Strada's Diamond was scratched at the barrier and Ten to Zero was beaten a lip in race 4 heads up and heads down. 1 winner from 25 metro races says it all. There is no doubt however it will turn around for this outstanding young trainer and hopefully today is the day with Keltoi stepping out in race 8 at Wyong. The horse has been gelded since his last appearance and will race without blinkers over 1350m. The distance would appear too short but it all depends on wether he wants to pull or settle in the race. The horse should be at nice each way odds and has been working very well. I know one thing, once the run of outs is turned around he is a trainer to follow. WARCH

Fabulous day with some extraordinary results From 39 races we returned a healthy 13 winners at 33%. Two winners and two seconds from our five specials should have been better with Top Stuff a certainty beaten after being held up in the straight. The winner of each race came in 34 of the 39 top fives at 87% (First Fives) Trifectas from our first fives- an amazing 18 from 39 races at 46%. It doesn't finish there however. Lets look at some dividends. Trifectas SR 5 $1,167, MR 2 $4,279 and First Fours (11 from 39 races at 28%) MR 5 $713, AR 5 $4,600, PR 3 $1,282, PR 6 $1,287 Super day and looking forward to Super Saturday at Ascot this week, 22 Nov 2012

A good day overall with Ascot playing true to form with four big winners producing the best results. Overall we found 11 winners 14 trifectas and 9 first fours from 41 races. Two seconds and a winner from our best bets Hope you got amongst them 18 Nov 2012
Just a warning if you are betting in Eagle farm today. There is a major storm heading for the Gold Coast which could also affect Eagle Farm to a lesser extent. Our ratings are based on a Good 3 so be wary if it hits. Best of the day PR 3/4 Checkpoint BR 4/10 Sons of God MR 1/9 Purrific Go all up and parlay 2 of them for a nice win 15 Nov 2012
A day for the novelties with 15 trifectas and 10 first fours from 38 races. We were around the place all day with the winner of the race coming from 31 first fives of the 38 races. 12 Nov 2012
Interesting statistics from Flemington and why it was such a horror week for the punters. This carnival will be remembered as the "Bookies Bonanza". No wonder some corporate bookies are paying 4 place bets in specific races and giving your money back if your horse runs second. 3/11/2012 Derby Day Winners R1 Lunar Rise $8.00 R2 Kelinni $9.50 R3 Zydeco $3.10 FAV R4 Nechita $5.00 R5 Alcopop $6.00 R6 Fiveandahalfstar $41.00 R7 Appearance $41.00 R8 Fontelina $13.00 R9 Fawkner $13.10 6/11/2012 Melbourne Cup day Winners R1 Villa Verde $3.50 FAV R2 Kasani $26.00 R3 Verdant $7.50 R4 Koonamoo $26.00 R5 Genteel $3.90 FAV R6 Walk With The Moon $8.50 R7 Grey Moon $20.00 R8 Eclair Surprise $9.50 R9 Unpretetious #3.60 FAV R10 Mahisara $11.00 8/11/2012 Oaks Day Winners R1 Keep De Rose $10.00 R2 Niconaise $8.00 R3 Honey Flower $15.00 R4 Shanee Wind $12.00 R5 Arinosa $3.50 FAV R6 Dear Demi $5.00 R7 Flying Skipper $41.00 R8 General Truce $17.00 R9 Lord of Brazil $11.00 10/11/2012 Emirates Day Winners R1 Direct Charge $18.00 R2 Good Value $14.10 R3 Sertorious $3.30 FAV R4 Extrimius $26.00 R5 Mental $7.00 R6 Happy Trails $13.00 R7 Midnight Martini $8.00 R8 Puissance de Lume $3.00 FAV R9 Launay $7.50 Overall 7 winners from 37 races at Flemington for a 19% strike rate. The trend continued for the spring carnival at Flemington with plenty of close but rough results. Had the pleasure of being the guest tipster for Loscom's corporate tent at Emirates Day and managed to keep most of their customers happy with 3 very nice first fours and 4 trifectas. Super day and thanks to Lee and Daniel for the invitation. Overall a nice day with 10 winners from 41 races at 24%. Trifectas and First Fours were up while there was plenty of value to be found within our first fives. Our 3 First Fours at Flemington paid exceptionally well.

The website ratings have been posted Plenty of specials today and a few at very good odds should make it a profitable day if our strike rate is maintained. Warch Racing are the guest tipsters today at a corporate day at Flemington so the pressure is on. Best Bets are in Melbourne 2/3 Galah, 5/10 Sea Siren and 7/1 Silent Achiever in Adelaide 2/1 Anythingthatmoves and 3/2 Le Roi in Perth 7/1 Luckygray and the best roughie 6/3 Wombies Legacy Good Luck 10 Nov 2012
Ratings up for Emirates Day subject to change after scratchings in the morning. Currently a Dead 4 at Flemington with some showers around. This race day is notorious for outsiders saluting the judge. Lets hope we have rated the correct roughies. Best bets are MR 2/3 Galah, MR 7/1 Silent Achiever, PR 7/1 Luckgray, BR 8/4 Boys On Tour. These should form part of your 3 horse allup bet of the day. Quite a few specials around in all states with a total of 8 shown in capitals. The best roughie fpr the day is PR 6/3 Wombies Legacy currently showing $11.00 for a win. 09 Nov 2012
Unfortunately the Melbourne Cup Carnival once again turned nasty on Oaks Day and we drew a blank. 5 winners in excess of double figure odds does not help the cause and our two best bets both ran second after looking the goods. Four seconds did not help so it's back to the drawing board. Looking forward to Emirates Day on Saturday to ease the pain. 08 Nov 2012
Today the fillies step out on and off the track at Flemington. The ones on the track will be in better condition on their way home. In a race where favourites have an outstanding record once again it looks like a race between Zydeco, Dear Demi and Summerbliss. I believe that Zydeco will win the race and you can't go past her on current form but if there is to be an upset it may come in the form of Alzora. A beautifully bred Redoutes Choice filly she has plenty of ability and is way over the odds. Dear Demi has been very unlucky in recent runs but bad luck and near misses can be habit forming so my tip is to back the favourite and save with a ticket each way Alzora. Best of the day are Zydeco and Golden Archer.
08 Nov 2012
As incredible as it may seem, Zabeel who is noted as a prolific sire of champion stayers has yet to have his progeny win the Victorian Oaks. Surely this will change tomorrow as Zydeco looks the winner with Dear Demi perhaps the logical danger.

Quite a few scratchings this morning so print off the latest ratings now and final fields should be set. To the Cup and our ratings- Dunedin, Americain, Red Cadeaux, Maluckyday and Green Moon The more we review this race the more the result keeps pointing to Red Cadeaux being the each way value bet for this years cup. Weights are in his favour with the only downside being the bad barrier but he has our favourite G1 jockey on board in Michael Rodd and we will trust him to get the right run. There are so many unknowns with the overseas contingent that results will depend on how horses that we haven't seen before have settled in and of course luck in running. Our best bets today are MR 1/1 Villa Verde AR 7/11 Testanova PR 6/4 Louisiana Lady BR 1/1 Heater Melbourne Cup MR 7/4 Red Cadeaux (each way) Best roughie PR 4/9 Barnsley Lad Good Luck They are short so look for an all up investment 06 Nov 2012
In assessing your form for tomorrows Cup meeting don't let wide barriers distract you from backing a horse. In the last two Melbourne Cup cards the winners have come from the following barriers. Barrier 1-2 winners Barrier 5-2 winners Barrier 7-1 winner Barrier 8-1 winner Barrier 9-1 winner Barrier 11-1 winner Barrier 12-5 winners Barrier 14-1 winner Barrier 15-1 winner Barrier 17-1 winner Inside draws have hardly played a part on a raceday that can produce some surprise results.
06 Nov 2012
There have been some significant bets laid on the Moody runner Lights Of Heaven at todays call of the card. The Moody stable have two runners in the Melbourne Cup with Viola Ichi being the second. As good a trainer as Peter Moody is he has never won a Golden Slipper, Caulfield Cup , Cox Plate or a Melbourne Cup so a win in this years Cup would be a first for the stable. The Eagle

Early ratings are posted and adjustments and final ratings will appear after scratchings tomorrow morning. I wouldn't expect there will be too many changes. Its very hard to go past Dunedin and Americain in the cup. Both horses have shown they haven't lost any of their form since arriving in Australia . On the basis of weights alone from last years cup the horse that could be the big improver is Red Cadeaux however he has drawn a terrible barrier and will need a lot of luck in running to find a position with any sort of cover. Up 1.5kg on the shortest of margin seconds last year I certainly will have a ticket each way. Cup day racing can bring some rough results in the minor races and although the rail is out only 2 metres don't be afraid to back something from a wide barrier in these races. The last 2 years have shown it is no disadvantage to be drawn out wide. The cup is a different matter with the middle barriers 12 and 13 successful in the past. It looks and I am sure it will be one of the most open cups in years so stick to the specials we have posted and take that all up bet with a saver on the parlay to have a successful day 05 Nov 2012
A very tough day at Flemington which started well with a nice trifecta and first four from race 1and then the drought started until the last race when Fawkner saluted. When the quaddie pays $132,000 and the favourite wins the last some roughies have arrived. Overall it was a reasonable day with 1 winner in Vic, 2 in NSW, 2 in SA, 3 in WA and 3 in Qld for a total of 11 for the day, a 27.5% strike rate. In total from 40 races we found 25 first fives,13 trifectas and 9 first fours Our specials found 3 winners in 5 specials and hopefully you matched the right three in an all up bet. Melbourne Cup day ratings will be on the website tomorrow with the early ratings and they will be updated Tuesday morning after scratchings. Those of you who live in the west will love race 1 at Flemington starting at 0710am WST and the cup on at 12 midday. Good luck to all and hope you backed a winner or 2

Eagle Farm last Wednesday produced some outstanding results that could be a first even for Warch Racing. From 8 races we selected 3 winners, Every winner came from our first five, We selected 8 trifectas from 8 races and got the first four in 7 of the 8 races. Sometimes it pays to follow the novelties. Where else do you get results like that? 03 Nov 2012
What a great days racing once again at Flemington ,three Group 3 races, two Group 2 races and four Group 1's. With so much stake money up for grabs you can bet the competition will be fierce. Our specials today are- SR 2/6 Sweet Idea PR 4/5 Travinator MR 2/1 Gatewood AR 3/2 Hidden Value BR 1/1 Missy Longstocking Our best value bet of the day is MR 8/1 Tiger Tees Good luck to a couple of our owners in Ray Silverlock and Bernie Pickett with PR 2/6 Il Vincero who steps out for the first time at odds of 8/1 in a very tough race, exciting times ahead. Ray and Bernie raced Key to Money a Bunbury Stakes winner and have a history of good luck with their horses. Lets hope it keeps going today!

In assessing your form for Derby day and in fact all of Cup week you should take into account the hot form of certain jockeys. The obvious form hoop is Glen Boss and Craig Williams always comes to the fore at this time of year but Kerrin McEvoy is the hottest jockey of them all at present. In his last 10 rides he has ridden 4 winners and 2 seconds including a group 2 and a group 3 winner. If you are looking for a single factor to decide your bet you can't go far wrong if you follow my advice The Eagle |
