Has the Corporate Bookmaker now joined the TAB's ?

Whilst establishing themselves in the market place early fixed price markets were part of the strategy to take business from the TAB. Sportsbet, Luxbet, Sporting Bet, Centre Bet and others were all happy to provide fixed pricing well before the TAB presented thier markets. How things change once you are established in the market place.

A Wednesday metro race meeting would have fixed price betting available at the latest early Tuesday morning , sometimes Monday night through most agencies and on Thursday morning for a Saturday meeting. We are lucky now to see the fixed prices on Thursday nights for a Saturday meeting and with only a few of the agencies.

To the credit of Bet 365 they are the only corporate who still does the eraliest fixed markets. Sportsbet is probably the next best but are still well behind Bet 365 and much later than they used to be. Future Racing Markets are also delayed and less races are covered.

The sign on bonuses have also reduced significantly and we wonder if its a sign of the market settling down with the appearance of Ladbrokes and William Hill both taking over established bookmakers or have they settled on a satisfactory market share with less players in it. Maybe its time to direct your business back to the TABs in each state who have been consistently losing share since the introduction of corporates even though most of them are now privately owned .

Maybe it will sharpen up the corporates once again.

No Randwick left 33 races so happy with the result but didnt help the enthusiasm for what looked such a great days racing in Sydney. Randwick will now hopefully go ahead for Monday so dependant on scratchings there may be some changes to the Randwick Form you already have.

Heavy tracks in Randwick and Doomben hopefully wont spoil the party on day 1 of the Championships.
